Billy Blue Abroad: An overdue hello - Our first weeks in Berlin

20 February 2017

On our orientation day we discovered that BTK is in the middle of construction as they are moving into a new building. The final resources at the the new campus sound amazing! Including professional printing labs, photography and illustration studios and much more. Unfortunately for us though, the building is predicted to be finished in time for the summer semester.

Our first two weeks of classes proved to be challenging as we had to reselect our subjects without any class descriptions. We decided to attend as many classes as possible to make informed decisions about our final selection. It was a busy two weeks with not all classes taught in English. Our final subjects are Experimental Illustration, Book Design, Digital Photography, Pen and Press and Screen Printing. We are really excited about the classes and pleased to say our teachers are just as amazing!

Each class has been very hands on so far. It's great to be learning new techniques to express ideas and design outcomes through different mediums. Furthermore, BTK is full of talented students from all over the world. It's so inspiring to be surrounded by people from so many different backgrounds and a great opportunity to meet and make connections with creative people worldwide. We look forward to what the next four months will bring.
