The Diploma of Software Engineering qualification is embedded within a suite of courses offering fundamentals in software engineering knowledge and skills with three specialisations available: Game Programming, Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing. The structure of these courses consist of a common Software Engineering Core, Specialisation and Elective subjects. This diploma is comprised of software engineering core and elective subjects from the three respective undergraduate software engineering specialisations.
Careers in Information Technology and Design have evolved significantly in the past decade to include new and emerging fields and specialisations that reflect the digital world that we now live in. This diploma offers students an opportunity to explore the field of software engineering, development of fundamental skills for entry level industry, and pursue further higher education study in specialised software engineering disciplines.
This diploma and the offered subjects give students the fundamental skills required for higher levels of education. All subjects are available in online, face-to-face and blended mode, providing flexible options of study to serve the needs of students. Assessments are mapped to the learning outcomes and include examinations, projects, reports, tests and collaborations.

Billy Blue Bachelor Degree courses are eligible for FEE HELP (Australian students only). FEE-HELP is Australian Government’s loan scheme for higher education degree courses. It can assist you in paying for all, or part of, your course fees. Repayments commence via the tax system once your income rises above a minimum threshold. Just like with any other debt, a FEE-HELP debt is a real debt that impacts your credit rating.

Trent is a game designer and software engineer. He has been designing, creating and studying game development for over 20 years. In that time, he co-founded and ran a Sydney-based game development studio, developed a passion for education and moved from a specialisation in theology to interactive entertainment and software development. Working with high school and university students for nearly 12 years, Trent’s goal is to inspire and facilitate a passion in his students for experiential game design while equipping them with an industry-level skill set in game development. Trent continues to pursue his own love of Creative Technology by engaging in games, AI and interactive story-telling research.
