The name has recently changed as part of Billy Blue at Torrens University Australia's continuous improvement process to more accurately describe the course content and industry outcomes that result from it.
Guaranteed to impress people when you casually drop it into conversation at parties, Film & Video Design is also a brilliant qualification to have if you’d like to spend your work time doing things with motion graphic design, digital video production, editing and post-production, sound design, concept design, pre-production planning, cinematography, compositing and visual effects. Or if you’re just into solving problems that other people probably don’t even know exist.
In addition to working through briefs and creative processes that get used by professionals, in your final year you’ll have the chance to apply for an internship with a professional motion design studio or production house, where you’ll potentially be working on real-world clients’ live projects. The Bachelor of Film and Video provides graduates with knowledge and skills in video production with sound, lighting and production processes along with post-production workflows focusing on video editing, colour grading, sound and motion graphic design suitable for a broad range of motion design related sectors and employment opportunities. The specialisation interweaves the acquisition of practical skills with the study of moving image design, film, television and media theory, and the study of professional practice in motion design workplaces. The course design incorporates industry-informed briefs, industry mentors, client projects, internship opportunities and study of emerging areas of motion design practice. In this way graduates have the opportunity to pair a well-rounded motion design generalist knowledge base with further focused niche skills development in a motion design specialist area.

Billy Blue Bachelor Degree courses are eligible for FEE HELP (Australian students only). FEE-HELP is Australian Government’s loan scheme for higher education degree courses. It can assist you in paying for all, or part of, your course fees. Repayments commence via the tax system once your income rises above a minimum threshold. Just like with any other debt, a FEE-HELP debt is a real debt that impacts your credit rating.
